Bio:
I started taking pictures when photography was suggested to me as a way to focus on something other than myself. Starting photography turned out to be a life-changer for me.
When we think of America, more often than not, we think of the success, the fame, the weatlth, the beauty of its cities and landscapes and the American Dream. My photography documents the flip side of that coin: the America that most people don’t want to see or look at. I focus on societal issues such as economic inequality, racism, gender inequality, political polarization, often incarnated by the so-called silent majority.
Tools:
I shoot with a Leica M Camera ™ and a 35 mm lens. I use Adobe Bridge ™ to organize my photos and Adobe Photoshop ™ for black and white conversions, resizing and color profile conversions.
Bragging Rights:
Published in the New York Times, Exhibited at San Francisco MOMA, Permanent Collection at the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology, Winner of the San Francisco International Photography Competition.
